Let’s get caffeinated!
Last year people all over Buckinghamshire brewed, poured, shared, nattered, sipped, dunked, and stirred themselves into action and supported Macmillan Cancer Support’s 16th World’s Biggest Coffee
Morning.

This year’s event takes place on Friday 28th September and we are urging everyone in the area to ‘get caffeinated’ and take part. It’s amazing what having a cup of coffee with friends at home, colleagues at work or children and teachers at schools can do. Last year over £86,000 was raised in Buckinghamshire alone. Whether your coffee morning is a small gathering with a few friends or a big event, they all help to fund vital services to improve the lives of local people affected by cancer.

One supporter who will be creating a huge stir and taking part in World’s Biggest Coffee Morning this year is Macmillan supporter and volunteer Valerie Bates. For over three years Valerie has held a coffee morning for her friends and neighbours; providing coffee, cakes and biscuits in return for small donations. She even holds a raffle to raise extra funds. Valerie always enjoys taking part: “It is always a really nice morning. Not only do we raise money to fund vital services for people affected by cancer, but it is also a great opportunity to catch up and have a chat with friends!”
If Valerie can do it so can you, do not let anything stop you from holding a coffee morning this year. If Friday 28th September is not convenient you can choose a date to suit you, when you register you receive a free fundraising pack with everything you need to help your event run smoothly and you do not even have to drink coffee. Why not try fruit teas or smoothies? However much money you raise, you will help to make a real difference to people affected by cancer in Buckinghamshire.
