Pancake Day Tuesday February 5
Providing the Phonebox Magazine is printed and disributed in time, you should be reading this with time to spare before 5 February, Pancake Day. Preparations are in hand for another big day for the Town and hopefully the weather will be kind and we will have a good turn out of both runners and supporters for the age old Olney tradition. We are very grateful to Francis Jackson Homes Ltd for its continued support as the race sponsor for the whole event. Thanks also go to the NatWest bank for its help with handing out the runners’ forms and we hope for supporting the prizes for the runners. A special thank you to Van Weenens Estate Agents who have again agreed to give a special cash prize for the winner. We are indebted to all the businesses and individuals who have contributed for prizes for the race and the pancake day grand draw.
So it only remains to say come and join in Pancake Day, a quick reminder of the timetable:
Children’s Races 10.30am
Pancakes on Market Place and Church Hall from 9.30am Main Race starts outside The Bull 11.55am
Shriving Service in Parish Church 12.15pm
Prizegiving Party at Working Mens Club 7.00pm
We all look forward to cheering on the runners.
