New lease of life for sports pavilion
Sherington Parish Council is pleased to report that building works have commenced at Perry Lane Sports and Recreation Field. The sports pavilion is in much need of refurbishment, and in order to extend its potential usage the Parish Council has embarked upon a major project to refurbish and also build an extension to the existing building. The project is estimated to take 18 weeks and upon completion the building will house a new medium sized reception room, new kitchen, new showers, new toilets, and new disabled facilities, along with refurbished changing rooms and referees’ facilities.
Funding is in place for Phase 1 of the project which is to build the new extension, thanks to a considerable grant awarded by WREN (Waste Recycling Ltd) and other parties such as Milton Keynes Council Parish Partnership Fund.
Funding is still being sought for Phase 2 which is to refurbish the existing building; the Milton Keynes Community Foundation has already made a significant contribution through its Horizon Radio fund towards this phase.
The parish council would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that it will
not be liable for any
injury caused to
persons accessing or attempting to access the fenced off building site whilst works are in progress, please stay away from this potentially dangerous area. K
