Rabbits are active animals and need regular opportunities to exercise.

Scent is an important means of communication for a rabbit.

Staff cutS at ouSedale ScHool
We have had several people contact us here at the Phonebox to see if we have any news regarding the circulating rumours of redundancies at the Ousedale Campus. Mostly people wanted to know how serious the situation is, what has caused the need for cuts, and will teaching quality be affected.
We contacted Headteacher, Sue Carbert, for a statement.
“Ousedale School, like all schools across the country, is facing a more challenging time financially than in previous years . It mirrors the challenges the country and a number of schools in Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire are facing. The Governing Body, as the employer, have a duty to ensure the school operates on a sound financial basis. They do have to plan for every eventuality and therefore over the past few years have over staffed the school to ensure where unexpected situations come along, such as the recent budget, children’s education is not affected. While there will be a small reduction in staffing for September the governors hope this can be achieved by the usual movement of staff in the summer term. However, if this is not the case they may be forced to look at redundancy. Clearly this is a last resort. I can assure parents the curriculum offered for this September is our most extensive to date. We shall be offering even more choice in our outstanding sixth form and class sizes in the main school will be unaffected. I am sure we can count on the understanding and the support of all parents over the months ahead.”

from the sight and smell of predators (e.g. foxes, cats, dogs, ferrets and birds of prey).
If your rabbit changes its behaviour, it could be distressed, bored, ill or injured.
Rabbits that are frightened or in pain may change their behaviour or develop unwanted habits e.g. aggression or hiding.
Signs that your rabbit may be suffering from stress or fear can include hiding, chewing cage bars, over-grooming, altered feeding or toileting habits, over-drinking or playing with the water bottle, sitting hunched, reluctance to move, and repeated circling of its enclosure.
