Our guest speaker for July was Derek Bucket with a selection of his prints in a talk entitled “Throughout the Years”. It gave the members an opportunity to see a selection of Derekʼs work as he described how they were taken, and gave an insight into the production of award winning photographs.

Tip of the month
When taking pictures of buildings – especially those that are frequently photographed – try to look for an unusual viewpoint or place of observation. A reflection in water, be it a puddle or a river, will give an intriguing picture. The reflection of one building in another is a fascinating view especially if the picture is enhanced by an interesting sky. If you have time, wait for clouds to be in the right position to add balance and drama to the shot.
