The Newton Ensemble and the Olney-Newton Link were very sorry to have to postpone its orchestral concert, schedule for 19th January in Olney Church and entitled Young Men and Philosophers. This was due to the adverse weather conditions. We did our best to put up notices round the town about the postponement and on the door of the Church and the Phonebox offices, as well as on the website and on Facebook. If you missed these, we do apologise again. If you have kept your tickets, they will be accepted for entry to the concert once it is rearranged. Please watch this space to find out the new date which we hope to be able to advertise shortly.
Meanwhile please put Saturday, 13th April in your diary as there will be a concert in aid of the Olney-Newton Link in the Sutcliffe Baptist Church on that evening. More details to follow. Dickens feedback
The Olney branch of the RBL collected more than £400 to fund comfort boxes for our troops in Afghanistan. We sent 11 boxes in December with 10 more in January. We plan on sending more boxes in February and March. The branch directly supports those from Olney, Emberton and Ravenstone who are serving and has recently sent four boxes to our boys alone. We do need help in finding out who is serving in theatre so if you know of anyone from Olney and district please let us know at rbl.olney@gmail.com.
