River
The river fishing season starts again on
the 16th of June and it is with the generous FISHING
cooperation of the riparian owners approximately three and a half miles of excellent river fishing is once again on offer on the club book. We cater for pleasure, specimen and match anglers. With annual membership fees remaining the same as last season at £20 for adult, £12 state pensioner and £5 junior we offer great value for the nine month season and are on sale at The Cabin Two Brewers on Sunday 9th June 11 till noon and Two Brewers Pub, also Wilsons hardware store or via club bailiffs and various angling outlets throughout the season.
Trophies are awarded at the end of the season for best specimen fish, examples to beat are Carp 26lb 12oz, Chub 7lb 13oz, Pike 22lb 9oz, Bream 8lb 7oz and Perch 4lb 4oz along with large Barbel, Roach, Rudd and Tench. Competitive anglers can fish the many club, charity and open matches for cups and prize money one of which has a guaranteed £500 first prize.
We have Pike and Perch matches for the predator anglers and provide two matches specifically for the junior members, however juniors are welcome to fish all other matches and win prize money set aside for them.
The club has two qualified angling coaches who can provide tuition and advice to anglers of all ages and abilities and can provide equipment for those who fancy giving angling a try without the expense.
