The Cowper and Newton Museum

Plea for costume makers!
Would you like to help us bring your museum to life? We want everybody involved in the museum and visitors to have the opportunity to dress in Georgian costume. These are very expensive to hire and we hope to create our own collection. Are you a dressmaker? We are not looking for per- fection! We are just trying to create the 18th century look and make the museum more interactive! Please contact Paula Noble, House Manager on 01234 711516 or house-manager@cowperand- newtonmuseum.org.uk. We look forward to welcoming you back to our museum on Tuesday 4th March – Pancake Race Day.
We will have Pancake Day artefacts on display!
The Cowper and Newton museum was featured in Michael Portillo’s ‘Great British Railway Journeys’ on January 14th 2014, BBC 2, 18:30. See this link www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03qg89k if you missed it!
Stewart Bailey posted a picture on Phonebox Magazine’s timeline of the first school photograph of Portfields School students taken back in 1977
He has managed to name a few via Facebook, but not everyone... Can you help? He has a very vague memory that a time capsule was buried in the school grounds somewhere and a couple of others have confirmed this but no record of this is in the School files...
If you can help just go to our Facebook Page and use the link there to contact Stewart and help him further ~ @stewpot
