Sunshine At The Plant Sale
The Rotary Club annual Plant Sale was blessed (for a change) with warm and sunny weather, and the citizens of Olney and surrounding areas flocked to support this worthwhile event (pictured right). Held in Olney’s Market Square, a vast array of plants, all raised and grown by Club members, raised approximately £700 for worthwhile causes. Approved local charities, including Willen Hospice, will benefit from the money raised.
Rotary Summer Concert
On Saturday June 7th, the talented Northampton Male Voice Choir returned to the Chrysalis Theatre with wonderful soloist Lincoln Noel for a night of music that had everyone’s feet tapping.
With music from shows and opera, to modern popular music and songs from the traditional male voice repertoire, the concert raised the roof of the delightful Chrysalis Theatre at Willen Park.
What’s more, the event helped to raise funds for Willen Hospice and Rotary International’s End Polio Campaign, as well as other local charities.
Formed in 1946, the Northampton Male Voice Choir has toured widely throughout the UK and overseas, and proudly wears the Northampton Borough coat of arms in recognition of its significant contribution to charity fundraising and its high standard of music, all under expert musical directorship
Larger than life guest soloist, Northampton-born Lincoln Noel, has performed with the choir before and raised the roof with his entertaining and engagingly humorous commentary and stunning piano virtuosity.
