Georgian Tea Party

Featuring Barbara Segal, specialist in Baroque dance, and her dance group. Visitors will be taken back 250 years, and with the fascinating museum, beautiful gardens and performances by Barbara Segal and her dancers, you will really feel Georgian for the day – do come in costume if you can! Tickets are £5 for adults and £2 per child.

The Cowper and Newton Museum Olney Families’ Memories of WW1 Do come and visit our new display of WW1 stories, photos, letters and artefacts from our community, kindly shared with us by over 40 Olney families who have direct links with WW1 or have inherited stories and memorabilia from relatives. We know how precious these items are – we are so grateful to everyone who has shared with or gifted them to us.
Our display, in the Olney Local History Room, begins by introducing the history of the impressive war memorials from our town and local villages. From here the stories of our brave soldiers begin. Do visit us soon!
Summer Bytes Festival

The Society’s museum is at Chandos Hall, Silver Street (along the short tunnel between nos. 52 and 54). The next opening will be on Sunday 14th September from 2.00 to 4.00pm, as part of the Heritage Open Days weekend. This will also be the start of our new exhibition entitled “Archaeology and local finds”. Also, come and see our re-creation of a Victorian kitchen.
