Competition Win Tickets to see the Mighty Hawkwind
The Pad Presents crew are back with the mighty festival favourites Hawkwind on 30th September. Stalwarts of the
UK festival scene Hawkwind return by popular demand with their unique brand of ‘Space-Rock’ to the Bedford Corn Exchange following brilliant shows back in 2010 and 2013.
Over the years Hawkwinds live shows have become the stuff of legend since first forming in 1969... In 1970, the band appeared outside the perimeter fence of the Isle of Wight Festival as a protest to the admission charge. Jimi Hendrix was spotted in the audience. The same year they played at the first Glastonbury Festival. The band’s latest album “Onward’’ was critically acclaimed receiving rave reviews in the rock music press proving the bands standing in British rock history is as important now as it was all those years ago.
Tickets are on sale from the box office priced £20 from: www.bedfordcornexchange.co.uk

Olney Dementia Project
The project has been working with local businesses and organisations to establish Olney as a Dementia Friendly Community.
Recently McColls, in the Market Square, signed up to become ‘dementia friendly’. Richard Barnaby, their Manager, was presented with the Dementia Friendly logo by Mark Lancaster MP. Richard and his staff are now more aware of how people living with dementia are affected by the illness and can strive to ensure that customers with dementia and their carers can be supported to continue to shop at McColls for as long as possible. McColls have also kindly nominated the Alzheimer’s Society as their charity for the year.
The Olney Dementia Project is presenting An Evening with Dementia.
“The play enlightens, inspires and, most importantly, teaches what the individual with dementia might want others to understand if he could be the teacher” (The British Medical Journal)
“You will find ‘An Evening With Dementia’ to be a powerfully entertaining learning experience that you will never forget whether you are one of the millions of people who have a close personal experience of dementia or really don’t know much about it”. (Willie Cruickshank, Director Norfolk and Suffolk Dementia Alliance)
