We would also like to thank our good friends Linda and Ron Newbold for showing us this super walk on a fine autumn Saturday. It should be noted that there is the possibility of sheep, horses and various farm animals on this walk so dogs should be kept on

efreshments: there are pubs in Paulerspury and Whittlebury, parking is limited in Paulerspury however if you clear it with the landlord of the Barley Mow to use his car park, but will return to use his
public house I am sure he will be happy to oblige otherwise please park carefully in the village.
1. Cross over the road from the Barley Mow and turn left, continue along the High Street and follow the road round to the right. Just round the corner cross over to the left and proceed in to the church yard of St James the Great church, follow the path to the right of the church. Just past the cemetery turn left and follow the path through a field and through a gate in to another field and keeping diagonally left follow the path that leads to the village of Pury End, turn left here in to Lower Street.
2. In about a hundred yards or so turn right in to Careys Road, keep to the right and follow this for a similar distance to a T junction just after the row of pretty stone cottages on your right, turn left at the junction and with the houses on your right follow the road until it becomes a track running between fields and out in to the country for about a kilometre and a half. Then where it joins a road from the right that leads to a drive to a lodge on your left, you will see directly in front of you a path that leads in to a small wood, follow this until it finishes at a road and turn right with cottages on your right. This leads you to the A413 Towcester Road.
3. Caution here turn left but immediately cross the road and look for an alleyway with houses on your left, this leads to Church Way, caution again keep to the grass verge on your right and follow for about fifty yards and look for another alley on the opposite side of the road with hedges to both sides, cross the road and take this path through the gate which leads in to the church of St Mary with it’s interestingly paved lynch gate. Follow the drive from the church in to Church Way and keep straight on and rejoin the A413, caution here cross over the road and turn left.

4. Follow this road past the houses on your right and in two
hundred yards or so turn right into an unnamed road with houses
just on your right and fields on your left. Follow this road round
to the left (you may recognize the houses on your left), and then 34 gently round to the right in a few yards and then in fifty yards or
so more sharply to the right (ignore the entrance on your right) and follow the track for another fifty or so you will see a small narrow path that goes off to your right through a fence and runs parallel to the track you have just left. It has the fence and then fields now on your left and trees to your right.
5. In about 100 yards the path rejoins the track to the right of the field on your left continue on this until the end of this field and turn left before the entrance to a further field (sign is
