Music: Now That’s What I Call Christmas
As it’s almost Christmas there’s nothing better than a good Christmas album to get you in the mood. Christmas songs are the best, you can dance around the house singing as loud as you can, annoying your entire family, especially if you live with a Scrooge. Now That’s What I Call Music have brought out another one of their Christmas albums to add to their ever growing collection, it’s a great album with all the old songs that everyone loves. There are songs from: Wham, Mariah Carey, Band Aid, Jackson 5 and so many more it’s a 2 disc Christmas CD so you won’t run out of songs to sing. It’s a brilliant CD and if you love Christmas as much as I do then I suggest that you go and buy this album. ENJOY!
Feed MK:
During November 2010 Feedmk was born, it was just a couple of friends (one an extremely good cook) who wanted to provide a place for homeless, single parents and low income families to go for a three course meal to brighten up their Christmas. Their aim is to bring the community together to help others for one day and make someone else’s Christmas better. They’ve done many meals, one for Christmas every year and even a couple of Easter meals. This year they are doing it again, on Saturday 20th December they invite you to join their FREE 4 course Christmas meal. It’s open to everyone, there are 6 sittings available; 12pm, 1.15pm, 2.30pm, 3.45pm, 5.00pm and 6.15pm, so there’s plenty of opportunities to go and see the true meaning of Christmas. For more information or to book a place; contact the Feedmk team: email: info@feedmk.co.uk Telephone: 01908 617469 or visit their website: www.feedmk.co.uk for more details. Unfortunately spaces are limited so please get in contact with them quickly to avoid disappointment. SPREAD THE WORD!
Christmas! It’s getting closer by the minute! It’s that time when chocolate before breakfast is allowed and we can’t lose track of the days as we begin our countdown. However with Christmas getting even closer so are the
exams we’re all dreading. A word of advice, REVISE. I know that it’s the holidays and you will not want to be sitting there revising; if you carry on doing a little bit of revision over the holidays then you won’t have so much to revise when it comes to your Mocks. Trust me, revise revise revise. But of course don’t forget to have a good Christmas and relax. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Phoebe
Movie: Polar Express & Elf
Christmas is only around the corner so putting up the decorations and listening to Christmas music is key, however when you’re worn out from all the singing/ dancing and covering your house with decorations; there’s nothing better than sitting down with
your family and watching a good film. No, you can’t watch anything else, you MUST watch Christmas films. It’s extremely difficult to choose one favourite Christmas film, so I’ve chosen three that I absolutely love. Polar Express, starring the voice of the one and only Tom Hanks, it’s a wonderfully animated musical Christmas fantasy film all about a young boy who doesn’t believe in Santa, boards a train on Christmas Eve that takes him and other young children to the North Pole to meet Santa. It’s a brilliant film that takes us on an unforgettable Christmas journey. Elf starring the hilarious Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf is definitely a funny Christmas film and definitely one for the family. Buddy was taken to the North Pole by mistake when he was only a toddler, so he was raised in the North Pole, however as he grew up he was beginning to realise that he didn’t fit in. So Buddy travels to New York to find his real father, on his adventure Buddy falls in love, and brings back the true meaning of Christmas. It’s a great film that manages to make anyone and everyone laugh, bringing everyone together. My third and final film is the Christmas film that is on TV every single year there are so many different versions, but my favourite and in my opinion the best one EVER is Patrick Stewart as Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. I’m sure you all know how this one goes, but to remind you, it’s adapted from Charles Dickens novel, “Scrooge” (Patrick Stewart) a mean spirited man gets his long overdue punishment for all his years not believing in the true meaning of Christmas and being old and stubborn. He’s taken on a life changing journey as three spirits, past, present and future visit him on the stroke of midnight. It’s a powerful heart-warming film with an all-star cast–definitely one for the family this Christmas. ENJOY!
