too: “I’ve ran eight marathons. It’s a personal challenge trying to beat your time. My goal was to try and get under the 3-hour mark. In 2009, I did 3 hours and 10 seconds so that was a bit frustrating, but then the next year I doubled my efforts and I did 2 hours 54 minutes in London. To be able to get underneath the 3-hour mark was great.” So what does the future hold for this 5-time Le Mans winner? Well, he says the Daytona 24 Hour race “would be fantastic to win,” so make sure you look out for Oliver on the podium at the next Daytona event!
“You’ve got to be dedicated, you’ve got to have a lot of desire.”
Finally, if you like the idea of getting into racing, Oliver kindly offered some advice: “You’ve got to be dedicated, you’ve got to have a lot of desire. Spending time in and around the sport is very important. Silverstone offer some great stuff for people who want to get out there and experience the thrill of driving fast and quickly. It’s a hard sport to get into, but just keep persevering!”
