Olney Aid - For the Calais Refugees
Countless folk across Britain are fed up of waiting for Governments to help these people and are doing something practical themselves to relieve the suffering of Calais’
refugees.
That is why local man John van Weenen is organising a relief mission of essential donations of aid to improve their conditions in the camp known as ‘The Jungle’. He believes no person should be without access to basic human rights like shelter and warmth – especially children.
The plan is very simple. There are 3,300 homes in Olney. We are asking every household to fill a two or three feet square cardboard box (upto tea chest size) with any of the items listed opposite (if you haven’t got a box, please use a heavy duty bin bag).
Then write on the side of the box the contents, and if you wish, leave your name and address inside in an envelope so the recipient can thank you (Your choice). Seal the box with tape.
Souls have very kindly provided a warehouse where all boxes should be dropped off on Saturday 10th or Sunday 11th October between 9.00am and 5.00pm on both days. Souls are located at 2 Stilebrook Road on Olney Industrial Estate off Yardley Road. We have permission to use the premises only on those two days – not before or
