Open to all ability levels, this relay race is a 3.5 mile event, or 2.3 miles for ages 11-15. This is not just an event for runners; bring along your support team who can enjoy great homemade cakes, with all profits going to the Olney-Newton Link charity. There will be trophies for first ladies team, first mens team, first mixed team, first vets’ team, quickest lady, quickest man, first junior team, quickest junior girl and boy, and first age 11-15 team! Like them on Facebook to keep up to date with the pre-race activity: Olney Runners’ Squeaky Bone Race. Cost per team is £40, or £28 for 11-15 year old route. In celebration of black cats, the RSCPA is holding a Halloween rehoming afternoon on Saturday 31st. Sadly, black cats are often overlooked and take much longer to rehome than others. Come and meet these enchanting felines and other rabbits who are all looking for loving homes. Volunteers will be on hand to talk to you about kittens available for adoption too. All adult cats are neutered, microchipped and flea- and worm- treated. A minimum donation of £60 is asked for each cat. For more details call 01908 611179.
