New Housing Plans in the offing
We have Plan:MK, Milton Keynes Council’s New Local Plan, on page 26 of this month’s issue. Our Ward Councillors have, quite rightly, devoted their whole article to it. MK Planning has not directly affected the rural areas that much in the past; this could well affect their future. There will be a series of meetings taking place to discuss the options available. No doubt other areas will be doing the same thing. We will keep you posted on facebook of any public meetings that we hear about that are not mentioned in the magazine this month. The consultation period could end as soon as 17th February, so there is less time than you might think to have your say.
While MK Council is thinking of building houses, Guy Fawkes, a few years ago, was thinking of blowing a few up; yes, Bonfire Night is with us again, always an usher of Christmas I tend to think. We’ve got a listing on the diary page of various fireworks displays so you have no excuse for not getting yourself along to one of them.
One good deed last month was achieved by Olney Aid who, with the help of Souls of Olney and Wards of Olney, departed for the ‘Jungle’ encampment in Calais with aid for a group of people who are looking for a home. With winter coming on let us hope that what was donated will help them over this period.
Well done to John van Weenen for organising the event, more info can be found inside and at: olneyaid.co.uk
