MK Food Bank supply food to families and individuals who are in urgent need in and around the Milton Keynes area. Your drop-off point is Phonebox MagazineofficeorNewportPagnell Medical Centre.
The Food Bank are now supplementing their food parcels with much-needed toiletries too. You can donate items such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap.

Britain in Bloom

There are 2 Britain in Bloom Competitions this year: one for the best front garden in Newport Pagnell, and one for the best  oral display by a publican. You don’t need to register; we’ll be taking photographs of front gardens & pubs in July/August this year. But if you would like us to pay particular attention to your front garden or pub, email Janine on web@newport-pagnell.org.uk. You don’t need a large garden; even the smallest of spaces will be considered. Trophies will be awarded at September’s Horticultural Show.

A friendly group of gardeners with an interest in alpine/rock garden plants. Plant sales (not just alpines) from a specialist nursery, competitions. This month’s talk is about ‘Places for Plants’ - ideas for growing alpine plants in gardens. Visitors welcome, £3 including refreshments.
Monday Lunch Club: Volunteers Needed
1, 8, 15, 22, 29, August, Monday, 9am- 2pm
Could you spare one Monday morning a month as a volunteer making lunch at the Lunch Club? We’re a wonderful group of elderly people and, for many of us, the lunch club is the only reason we get a hot meal or have any company. In return, volunteers can enjoy the company of other volunteers, learn from a fantastic cooking teacher and try out your own recipes if you’re already a confident cook. Interested in volunteering?
