Beer festival returns to The Buszy
After considerable uncertainty and frantic work to seek alternative venues, Milton Keynes sighed with relief that this year’s CAMRA Concrete Pint Beer Festival will go ahead for the 23rd time, in October. Once again, it will be in the former bus station, a listed building
currently called “The Buszy”, which is ideally located in the heart of Milton Keynes and readily accessible by public transport.
As ever, there will be some 90 casks of real ale, with plenty of ciders and bottled Belgian beers, plus all manner of food, sideshows and CAMRA things-to-do. Last year almost 2000 people enjoyed nearly 6000 pints of real ale, plus plenty of cider and Belgian beers. This year more people are expected, sampling even more beer and more cider.
There will be a focus on local beers, including some from each of the three Milton Keynes breweries. This year’s Festival Organiser, Will Longmate, said:
“There was a very real danger of no Festival this year if MK Development Partnership had not agreed we could use our regular venue. Now we can concentrate on detailed planning, including picking beers and developing our special plans for a unique feature for the Milton Keynes festival.
My thanks go to my CAMRA team for their hard work and perseverance, and to councillors David Lewis and sadly missed Brian White, and MKDP’s Kevin Monkton, for helping us achieve this happy outcome.”
