Lakes Lane Open Gardens
Raises over £2,000 for Eclipse Counselling Service
On 29th June this year 12 gardens in Lakes Lane in Newport Pagnell were opened to the public. This was the third
time gardens had been opened and was the most successful yet. A dry day meant that several hundred visitors enjoyed visiting the gardens and all were well refreshed afterwards with tea and excellent cakes made by the locals. An exhibition of the history of the Lane, a raffle, face painting and competitions all added to the day. As well as being a wonderful example of community spirit, the event raised an excellent £2,000 for Eclipse Counselling Service in Newport Pagnell and a cheque was presented to their director David Blyth at a well-earned celebration evening. A special mention goes to the children who raised over £80 with their delicious Samosas.
