The clubhouse will also be refurbished during this time, giving us a great facility. Now’s the time to get back on court or start playing tennis at our friendly club and we have been pleased to welcome new players. Now is the time to join any of our club sessions, play in teams or just play with friends. There are no court or light fees and lots of bene ts.

Newport Pagnell Town Football Club
NIt’s FA Cup time again!
ewport Pagnell Town’s competitive season will start in perhaps the most exciting way possible, with a home match in the FA Cup. On 6th August they play Biggelswade United at Willen Road in the Extra Preliminary Round. With
Biggleswade having nished in mid-table in the South Midlands League Premier Division last season (equivalent level to the United Counties League Premier Division) this should be a good contest.
Even at this earliest stage there is always a special atmosphere to matches in the world’s oldest football competition, in which clubs in the ninth tier of English football, as Newport Pagnell Town are, can compete in the same competition as the top Premier League Clubs. Whilst it would take several unlikely performances to progress even as far as the stage when the Football League clubs enter the competition, Newport’s players can earn themselves a chance to test themselves against higher league opposition if they can beat Biggleswade. The winners of this match will be away to Aylesbury United of the Southern League Central Division in the next round two weeks later.
Newport Pagnell’s third place in the UCL Premier Division last season gives them exemption from the two qualifying rounds of the FA Vase, so they will not enter that competition until the First Round Proper, which is not scheduled to be played until October.

At the time of writing, United Counties League xtures have not yet been published, but they should begin very soon after the FA Cup match. We do know which teams will be in the Premier Division this season. Two teams from last season are no longer in the Division. Kempston Rovers have been promoted and Northampton Spencer have sadly disbanded. Peterborough Sports and Northampton ON Chenecks have been promoted from Division 1. Because no team has been relegated into this league this has meant that the size of the Premier Division stays at 22 clubs without any team being relegated to Division 1, so the remaining league opponents will be the same as last season.
After an excellent third place in the UCL Premier Division last season and nishing runners-up in the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy everyone at the club will be eagerly awaiting the start of the new season and hoping for a serious challenge for the league title and a good run in at least one cup competition.
Season ticket prices for 2016-17 have recently been announced and are excellent value for this level of football at a full adult price of £70 and a Concessions price of £45.
Come along to Willen Road on 6th August and enjoy the excitement and atmosphere of the FA Cup, and keep any eye on the club website and look out for posters around town for details of league matches.
