Newton Blossomville School
TGoodbye and Good Luck
he end of term at Newton Blossomville C of E school was full of fun and fond farewells. The School said a very fond farewell to their much loved Headteacher, Mrs Lisa Watson, who after ve years is moving on to a new post as
Headteacher of Lavendon Primary School. The school will miss her greatly and thank her for all her dedicated enthusiastic hard work and wish her the very best for her new post. The children and Mrs Watson had a fabulous party at the end of term. Newton Blossomville School also said ‘Goodbye and Good Luck’ to all the year two children who are moving on to their new schools. The children and staff have had a fabulous time at school; tea parties, trips to the likes of Warwick Castle and forest school all alongside the exciting curriculum. Many thanks go to the staff and parents at this time of year for their continued dedication, hard work and support. Next term we welcome six new starters to Newton Blossomville CofE School and a new Headteacher, Mrs Marie-Claire Parsons, who has been Deputy Head of two local schools for the past four years. We wish them all well for their start in September and look forward to a fun ‘Superheroes’ topic and a trip to the Space Centre.
Sherington School
WEnd to the summer term
e had a wonderful end to the summer term here at Sherington CE School. We were very lucky to have the very talented local artist Pippa North come into school
and spend the day with our Robins and Owls. Pippa has worked with us on previous occasions and the children all enjoy the creative atmosphere. This time, their artistic efforts culminated in an amazing, Rio-inspired display which has given our cloakroom a whole new lease of life.
For our whole school end of year trip we ventured to Whipsnade Zoo. On what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year so far, the children were delighted to see brown bears, lions, a bird display and many other animals. A huge thank you to our PTFA who ensured each of the children had an ice cream and came home with their own toy squirrel monkey!
Our leavers assembly was, as expected, an emotional affair as our Year two Owls gave accounts of what they have learnt and enjoyed during their time at Sherington. We are very proud of our Owls – we will miss them very much but we send them onwards to their new schools with a love for learning and having made life-long friends. We now look forward to welcoming our new intake of Sparrows who being their learning journey with us.
We still have a few spaces, if you are looking for a child centred, creative curriculum and a family ethos for your child please call the school of ce – 01234 881294 to arrange a visit. Also look out for our advert for an open day in October in the next issue.
