Volunteering is a great way to meet new friends and support local community groups. This month, on our centre spread, we have just a few of the clubs and societies that need your help. Have a look and see if you think you can be of aid to them. There are many that need help, not just those we’ve mentioned. This could also open unknown doors for you and get you out of the house and become involved with something really interesting.

Talking of doors, or perhaps more precisely, gates, the Bull in Olney has had a ‘request’ to put theirs round the right way. Charles Wells the brewery has presented an alternative. Have a look on page 11 and see what you think.
This month marks the beginning of the summer season, filled with exciting local events. Olney’s Cherry Fair, Newport Pagnell’s Strawberry Fair and Vintage Fair are just a few of the highlights. RiverFest is on the horizon, and the Weston Underwood Fete is another local favourite. Don’t miss out on these events to connect with your local community. We remember D-Day, on page 17, where we celebrate its 80th anniversary, which takes place on 6th June, and also have an interesting local story linked to this memorable day.
Finally, well done to the volunteers who participated in Olney is Kind’s sponsored row, raising a significant amount for charity. There is more of that on page 55.
