They make a living by cultivating their ‘gardens’ and selling the produce, together with other small items in the market. The best way you can help such people is by getting involved with the link – we are always looking for people to share in the practical tasks. If you want to send money, do it by contributing funds for the link . Such money would allow us to send out schoolbooks we have collected and which are desperately needed in the schools, as well as to our other projects. If you want to know more about Pen Friends, please phone, Rena Partridge 01234 240018, or e-mail rena@uwclub.net. On September 6th 2006 we had
a most interesting talk by the
County Coroner Mr Rodney Corner, he even related cases in Olney going back as far as the 1400s!! Not only does he deal with deaths but also treasure trove. Many of us didn’t know that treasure found in the county is also a case for the Coroner.
The competition for this month was a vegetable animal and this was won by Joanne Eley with Doreen Burgess second and Judi Boardman 3rd. There were some weird and wonderful animals entered into this!!!
Lou Rice ran an accessories table top sale and raised over £36 towards our 70th Celebration evening in December.
The raffle was won by Florence Mynard.
Next month’s meeting (October 4th) will be a ‘Fish ‘n Chip’ harvest supper and a Games Evening. d
