Olney Bowling Club
The season got off to a good start thanks to the glorious weather of late April. Then came the May monsoon. Not to be daunted, play proceeded whenever the rinks were not too badly affected by the rain. The Club has enjoyed some early successes.
In the National, ‘2 – fours’ the ‘A’ team have won through the first two rounds against Woburn Sands. The ‘B’ team have yet to play their first round. The Club has won the first round of the ‘Top Club’ competition against Wolverton Town. In the league there was a victory over Bletchley Town. The first County match was played on Friday 11th May. Bucks County Bowling Association entertained the Essex County Tourists. The victory went to Bucks.
It is to be hoped that the sun will lose its shyness and soon come out to play so that we can enjoy ‘flaming June’. K
