News from Lavendon School
School opened on Monday 4th January but due to the heavy snow conditions school was closed for part of the week. We did however enjoy the snow days at school. Here are some photographs of us have fun in the snow.
Olney Rugby Club
After missing the January issue, thanks must be paid to all those who participated once again in a fine Olney Rugby Club Panto performance of Alladin in December, which was thoroughly enjoyed by children and adults. This event is proving to be highly popular and a fixture which would not need to be postponed due to severe weather, unlike the current fixtures in the Rugby Calendar. Although most of us enjoy the snow for a day or so, Rugby Fixtures are currently being postponed not only due to the snow but for the safety of players on the frozen ground.
The New Year usually see's many people starting a new fitness regime, and for some possibly a new sport. If you feel rugby could be for you? Maybe it used to be? Then Olney Rugby Club could be for you.....with up to five senior sides playing on a Saturday afternoon, Ladies on a Sunday, and not forgetting the hundreds of children in the mini/junior section on a Sunday morning, we definitely cater for the entire family!
The First XV are currently mid table as this goes to press and had their best result of the season at home against Salisbury before the christmas break winning 68-3 a great way to end 2009.
