large congregation in the Parish church for the Shriving Service led by the Rector, Rev Claire Wood. The Olney Hymn Book was presented to Nicky by Deputy Mayor Steve Clark and the Liberal Plate by Larry Stevens who also presented Mayor Mike Hughes with a key to Liberal.
Pancakes were served on the Market Place and in the church hall where tea and coffee was available too. The good weather had brought the crowds out and everywhere was very busy.
The evening Prize Giving Party at the Carlton House Club started with the web link with Liberal where we learnt their winner Nicole Schowengerdt had run their course in 63 seconds, so another win for Liberal.
The prize giving took place with Nicky Sallis receiving lots of prizes donated by generous sponsors in the town, as did all the runners.
The evening concluded with the pancake raffle draw. Music during the evening was provided by Alan Haughton and Philippa Steel.
The Pancake Race Committee would like to thank all our sponsors, all the runners and everyone who supported the day. I would like to thank all the members of the Committee for their hard work in keeping this important tradition going in the town.

THE MEMORIES OF ASTON MARTIN FACTORY WORKERS
The fascinating memories of people who worked at Aston Martin in Newport Pagnell have been captured on a new DVD.
The DVD titled ‘We Had Our Time’ features interviews with 26 Aston Martin employees who worked on the production line between 1954 up until the factory’s closure in 2007. Interspersed with
interviews are 150 historic photographs taken over more than 50 years when nearly 13,000 luxury cars were produced at Tickford Works.
The ambitious project was carried out by members of the Newport Pagnell Partnership and took a year to complete. Partnership
spokesman Brian Hunt said: “Aston Martin has played a big role in the history of the town and we believed it was really important to record the experiences of local people who spent their working lives on the factory floor.
“The DVD gives a fascinating insight into the lives of ordinary workers and captures the spirit of the factory. Many of the stories are amusing while others are poignant.”
Retired Open University film producer Jack Leitham agreed to produce the film, while a former BBC camera man, David Wilson, did the filming.
The title of the DVD was taken from one of the women interviewed who was asked how she felt when the factory closed. She replied that she was very sad “but we had our day.”
The project was funded by a Grassroots Grant administered by the Milton Keynes Community Foundation.
We Had Our Time lasts for 90 minutes. It costs £5 and is on sale in Doodles and the Post Office in Newport Pagnell High Street.
