Filgrave School
PuPiLs, mEmbErs OF staff, parents, villagers and school trustees celebrated the centenary of Filgrave school recently.
Parents and grandparents were entertained by the children’s singing and dancing, and then there was tea and cake for everyone in the second classroom where old photographs of the school adorned the walls.
Pupils chuckled at the school uniforms of a hundred years ago and were delighted to recognise the present school buildings in some old photographs. Villagers and trustees shared their stories of the

Our mEETing On 9th of July found us in very cheerful form. With the first few books now coming right through for the readership this was to be expected. We were joined by three newcomers who immediately proved interesting company with good ideas of their own.
much of the time was given to planning actual sales and our readers will need to know how to go about buying copies of the works previously advertised in Phonebox magazine. you will find this a simple matter. Just phone the office 01234 7132198 (visa number at the ready) and tell which books you require, allow fourteen days for delivery. They are priced at £7.99 which includes post and packing. if you are shopping in Olney by all means drop into us – we are just alongside the Co-op. The early books are fairy tales for little people but you will soon also find yourselves choosing from a number of forthcoming novels and other works.

Trip to Emberton Country Park
A busy summEr term would not be complete without a pre- school trip and this year the destination was Emberton Country
Park. both parents and children joined in the fun and games organised by Lovat Hall Pre-
school. At lunchtime everyone eagerly tucked into their homemade picnics and once finished, the children were keen to take part
in the afternoon’s activities. The children thoroughly enjoyed running around outside in
the wide open spaces, and exploring the fantastic play and activity areas that Emberton Country Park has to offer.
