The tireless work of Zoya Phan and her amazing colleagues at Burma Campaign UK continues to draw the attention of the outside world to the atrocities in Burma, but still the United Nations shows a lamentable reluctance to challenge the authorities in Burma and deal with the issues.

Events at the Cowper and Newton Museum in August
16th - 19th August Alice in Wonderland Week: Take a trip down the rabbit-hole at the Cowper and Newton Museum! Follow our Alice in Wonderland Trail around the Museum and win a special prize. 26th August Victorian Fun and Games Day: The Museum steps back in time for one day only! Join us for a jolly jaunt back in time to the Victorian Seaside resort! Pose for picture postcards, watch the professional Punch and Judy Show and Organ Grinder, sample some delicious food at our Victorian High Tea. Try your hand at being a Victorian Laundry Maid in our newly renovated Victorian Washroom - scrub clothes on the
washboard, wring them through the mangle and have a go at carpet beating all in Victorian dress! Join us for traditional Victorian garden games including croquet, quoits, skittles and the coconut shy with prizes to be won all day! Old-fashioned fun for all the family! Normal entry prices apply.
