Skincare aficionado Julie Ward, who in her 20 years in the beauty industry has owned salons in London and Sydney, Australia as well as having been an examiner for the International Beauty Board BABTAC, is bringing her expertise to Olney with the September launch of The Beauty Guru at About Face in Rose Court.
In the tranquil environment of her new beauty rooms, Julie offers a range of pampering therapies but where she really stand out from the crowd is for her skin treatments. She is totally devoted to improving and maintaining the beauty of your skin. She offers treatment for a wide range of skin conditions and uses highly effective anti-ageing and facial rejuvenation techniques that produce visible results.
Julie is trained in Vodder Lymphatic Drainage Massage which enhances fluid movement in the skin benefiting overall health and wellbeing. She incorporates this into treatments where skin problems appear to be driven by hormonal or digestive problems.
“My clients are always amazed by the instant improvement that Vodder Lymphatic Drainage Massage produces and leave my salon feeling better and looking more radiant and energized,” says Julie.
Top of her list of corrective treatments are facials designed to improve the appearance of prematurely aged skins. “All skin ages differently,” Julie explains. “You can look at your parents to get an indication of how your skin will age, but with modern technology and treatments, the speed of that ageing process can be slowed significantly”.

Zumba Fitness
Are your clothes feeling a bit tight after the summer holidays? Why not come along to Amanda’s Zumba class at Lavendon village hall on Wednesday evenings? There are 3 classes on offer: Zumba Toning, which is a fun dance class using light handweights, followed by Zumba Dance: pure latin fun, suitable for people of any age, fitness level or size – just party your way to fitness! And to finish the evening, there’s a final fun half hour of standing tummy exercises to music, including belly dancing, burlesque - rounded off with some yoga/pilates stretches to tone and relax you.
