A New Season and A Celebration of the Old at St Peter and St Paul
Affirmation of Faith – With so many now seeking to build and affirm their faith in Christ, a new course begins on 19th Sept 2012 at 7.30pm n the Church Hall: A real chance to draw closer to the call he places in our lives to believe in Him.
September in our country marks the change in the season. For those in education it marks the beginning of a new academic year, for others it marks the end of the summer and a movement into the build up to Christmas.
Harvest Hog
In our lives we may also notice the change in our spiritual needs; perhaps we are seeking to find out what living with Jesus might mean with a chance to ask difficult questions that we might not feel comfortable airing in public, or we might have concluded that actually we feel we need to bring our thoughts and prayers together and mark them as a significant step in our life, or we might feel that we might be able to be guides, mentors and supporters of our community and help as Christ called his Disciples to do.
Each year we celebrate the seasonʼs harvest with a Hog roast, this year will be no different and on the Saturday 29th September we will be doing it again!
Each of these provides a challenge and we might wonder where to go with the challenge.
On Sunday 30th September at 10am we will be celebrating the harvest with something different: A service, at which there will be a gathering of dried and tinned foods for MK Foodbank, and at which the Bishop of Buckingham will be celebrating a baptism with us.
Well if any of this rings a bell with you, then the following might be of interest to you.
New member of the team at St Peter & St Paul
Beyond the Surface – This is a monthly event held at 4.30pm on a Sunday afternoon. The next one will be on the 9th September. Here, each month, questions such as ʻIs there a God?ʼ, ʻWhat is happening to our morals?ʼ and many others are asked and considered. “I didnʼt think we could discuss such things in a church!” was one delighted participantʼs reaction.
Coralie Mansfield will be joining the team of St Peter and St Paul as an Accredited Lay Minister. Her role will include the ongoing development and work of the Soul Time Projects, which are now part of the Churchʼs community work. She will be working alongside Nic Blackmore our Youth Worker and of course the Ministry Team.
