Dear Editor
I just wanted to say thank you for the article about Climb Your Mountain (CYM) in this months Phonebox magazine following on from the recent articles relating to Eli Ward.
Having editorial in magazines is always helpful for us to raise awareness about our organisation and I am sure several people will now bene t directly as a result and also we will hopefully get some people raising money for us and taking part in our fundraising events and challenges too.
And hopefully we can have some more coverage going forward! Thanks again.

Pointless Waste
My house overlooks The Knoll (at the north end of the High Street) where for three days there have been road works and a traf c light, leading to serious traf c delays in both directions of the High Street. I suspect that that has been quite unnecessary. The actual works obstruct only the eastern half of Dartmouth Road, so the traf c light lets cars pass in one direction at a time. Instead of installing lights, it seems more sensible to make the rst few yards of Yardley Road one way to the north and the unnamed stretch fronting the Amaya Restaurant one way to the east, effectively turning the Knoll into a traf c island.
There would indeed have been some slowing down of traf c, but nothing like the delays due to the lights. Moreover the works would not have borne the cost of the lights, or of a man (whom I have watched for three days) whose sole duty seems to be to stand by the lights and ddle with them from time to time. Can someone please explain why the council could not do that?

Dear Editor
I refer to the picture in David Pibworth’s article on Page 49 of the June Issue of ‘Phonebox’. I take exception at the use of the word ‘tits’ in the speech bubble of the character on the right.
I feel it is wholly inappropriate to use this word
in the context of this picture. Tits are useful, industrious, colourful, caring creatures. Can the same be said of the of the subjects of the cartoon?
Sincerely,
Terry Murphy, Newport Pagnell
