IT’S JULY, IT’S ACTUALLY JULY! WHOOOOOO! Hey guys, as you’ve probably already guessed I’m so happy that it’s nally July. Do you know what this means? ONLY 23 school days left. It’s almost summer don’t worry guys we will be there soon. So what have you all been up to? The sun has been bright and shining some days and raining the other few days. I’ve tried to grab as much sun as I can, but otherwise it’s all been rowing and homework. Last month year 9’s all had their SATS; it was quite nerve racking going into the hall in silence and even more nerve racking when you have to wait 2 weeks to get your results. So how’d it go, pleased with your results? Of course not forgetting year 10 and 11 who started or nished their GCSE’s Good luck and Well done to all the year 11’s that have now nished GCSE’s (I’m very jealous). Last month Robin Thicke’s funky tune “Blurred Lines” reached number 1 in the Top 40 chart more than 3 weeks in the chart. American rapper T.I provides some vocals on the track along side “Daft Punk’s” Number 1 tune “Get Lucky” vocalist Pharrell Williams. Blurred Lines was produced by Thicke and Williams with an intention of creating a sound similar to Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up”. The song was completed in almost an hour. In an interview with GQ, Thicke said: “Pharrell and I were in the studio and I was like, ‘Damn, we should make something like that “Got to Give It Up”, something with that groove.’ The song went down a hit and did fantastic and continues to stay in the chart.
