SCHOOLS REPORT
Lavendon School
May Day 2013
On May 1st the whole school, parents and visitors enjoyed a fabulous May Day with an afternoon of country dancing and maypole dancing. The day was very hot! The children thoroughly appreciated the ice lollies provided by the Lavendon School Association (LSA).
Acorn Class Visit to ‘West Lodge
part in Lifepath 2013 festival. The aim of the visit was to give the children an opportunity to explore the Christian faith through the life of John Bunyan.
Sherington Church of England School
A day in the park with Percy the Park-Keeper was very interesting following clues to track Percy’s friends. Looking at the variety of plant life while hunting for ‘minibeasts’ almost completed a very busy morning. A picnic lunch shared with a very large and bright-eyed crow was a super finale. Thank you Campbell Park.
Another thank you is due to the Sherington Church Café; this meets each Friday afternoon for tea and
cakes to

between
church and school. Our first sharing of money went to the purchase of a three-seater trike.
We said a fond farewell to student Christiana Hankins. Chrissy has been working with us as a volunteer for more than a year and hopes to take up a future place to gain a teaching qualification. She in turn used her final session to treat us with some tasty and exotic cooking from Sierra Leone.
Emberton School
The Busy Bees have had lots of special visitors during this term’s “People
Who Help
Us” topic.
including
Nurse
Lou,
PCSO
Pat and a
shiny red fire engine. We had great fun clambering inside and looking at all the equipment, with Fireman Des.
The Busy Bees had an action packed day at the start of term when poor Barney Bear got stuck on the school field and the children had fun finding and reading clues in order to rescue him!
The Learning Ladybirds are continuing their “Sea-sides” topic
by pretending they are stranded on a desert island and writing messages in bottles and finding magic pebbles!
We now have our very own allotment in the village! The seeds are planted and the children love walking to the allotment carrying little trowels and watering cans and seeing how much everything has grown.
Stoke Goldington CE First School
The playground at Stoke Goldington CE First School has turned into an outdoor artwork display area!
The Busy Bees in Early Years
Foundation Stage have adorned one area with some fantastic spinning mobiles featuring the moon, stars and earth and Learning Ladybirds in Years 1 and 2 have created an amazing range of sea creatures and underwater pictures.
Farm Park’
Early Years children explored how animals grow and change. The
children were also able to feed the lambs milk, feed some goats, and watch the pig race! The afternoon ended with a super tractor ride.
Lifepath Elstow
Our Year 3 and year 4 children travelled to Elstow Abbey to take
