Garlic - One of Diana 's best growers. produce such as garlic in spring compared with in autumn. The gardeners are asked to taste-test the foods they grow, reporting back on how they have turned out. 'Trying out growing new foods is interesting', Diana explained, 'we have to taste them and tell them what they're like, I don't really like broad beans and there's a lot of them so that'll be interesting! I don't know what I'm going to do with all these tomatoes either, there are loads of them!' The early spring weather seems to have had a positive effect on Diana's plants, and she is often one of the first among the group to spot growth. I asked Diana what she thought had been growing the best so far : 'The garlic has definitely come up the best, the autumn ones have come up really nicely!' The campaign is allowing for more people to get involved in gardening , with the youngest member aged just 17, there 's a great variety of people taking part and the hope is that even more will be benefitted by being able to utilise the results. 'It's a really good project to be involved in. I've really enjoyed doing it, I'm forever out there pottering! ' Comparison between the sedium grown in a pot compared to in the ground .
