Hey guys, how is everyone this month? Not long until summer. It’s yet another month closer so the real count down can now begin. Luckily the weather has slowly been improving and the sun has been shining; getting us ready for summer. As the sun is now beginning to shine a lot more don’t forget to put your sun cream on as I’m suffering the pain of being burnt after I forgot, definitely not a mistake I’ll be making again. For all those who are still doing exams I continue to wish you the best of luck, remember to keep revising hard and summer isn’t far away now. To everybody that has now finished all of their exams congratulations and good luck with your results. So as summer is coming has anyone got anything planned? I’m not going abroad anywhere this summer, so fingers crossed it will be sunny over here so I can relax in the garden and get a good tan. This year summer is going to consist of eating a lot of ice cream, seeing family and friends and lazing around in the garden, I might even sneak in a bit of shopping (or a lot). Whatever you do this summer make a lot of memories as for year 10’s going into year 11 it’s going to get serious next year so make this summer last. I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Bye Phoebe
“Guardians of the galaxy” is one to look out for; if you’re a fan of all the Avenger films this film is one for you. After stealing a mysterious orb, American pilot/ outlaw hero Peter Quill is hunted down and punished to life in an inter-galactic prison. In order to be set free, Quill reluctantly joins forces with alien criminals Drax, Gamora, Rocket and Groot to form an alliance of misfits known as the “Guardians of the Galaxy”. However trouble strikes when the guardians discover that a powerful villain “Ronan” is hunting the orb. It’s up to Quill, Drax, Gamora, Rocket and Groot to stop Ronan. The fate of the universe is left in their hands. Along with adventure and comedy there’s also a star packed cast including; Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel and more. This looks like a great film especially if you’re a fan of any of the Avengers movies. Go and see it, it’s released on the 31st July.
London Grammar are a British trio consisting of Hannah Reid, Dan Rothman and Dominic ‘Dot’ Major. Their debut single “Metal and Dust” was released last February; their debut album “If you wait” followed 7 months later in September 2013. Their music has been described as “a blend of ambient, ethereal and classical sounds” with melancholy guitar, soaring vocals and plaintive lyrics. All their songs are a collaborative effort; they all take part in the song and music writing process. They write about all emotions in life and Hannah said “I write about the people who come in and out of my life”. One of their most successful songs “Wasting my young years” which reached over 11million views on YouTube was written about her ex-boyfriend. They were nominated for British Breakthrough Act at the 2014 Brit Awards but unfortunately Bastille snatched it out of their hands. Their style of music is very unique as is Hannah’s powerful voice, their music is very easy listening, I found it was very relaxing after I had been revising. If you haven’t heard any of their songs yet I strongly suggest you get onto YouTube and have a listen.
