Newport Pagnell Carnival - July 5-6th Thousands braved British showers and downpours last month and took to the streets of Newport Pagnell for the town's annual carnival. Held across two days, the colourful free event had a Go Wild Theme, and Saturday's main parade through the town featured locals dressed in an array of costumes from the animal world. From multi-coloured parrots to roaring lions, the streets were bursting with outfits inspired· by the animal kingdom. And joining them were the carnival queens and princesses, dressed in all their finery The Sunday saw vintage cars and vehicles in a classic display and rally. Other acts included a motorbike stunt show, a music stage and a car boot sale, as well as a funfair and food stalls. Lastly, more than a thousand rubber ducks took to the river next to Riverside Meadow to take part in their annual race. 34 Phonebox Magazine
