Northampton-born Jubilee Cou s will play The Roadmender on the 2nd for the launch of their latestest EP, Go Fromthe Blue Light into the Moonlight, and Blitz Kids will also head to the venue on the 1 5th. Wolverton's The Craufurd Arms features a range of performers, including:
  Children from across Buckinghamshire are taking to M K Theatre's stage from August 8-9 in a new take on The Wizard of Oz, aptly called the The Wiz (see our interview with one of the lucky stars on page 39). Tom Cruise may not make an appearance any time soon, but Rock ofAges is storming into Milton Keynes this month with a flash of air guitar and Livin' On A Prayer.
The Broadway hit, which was famously made into a film starring the Top Gun actor, i s at M K Theatre from August 1 8- 23. And audiences can travel further back to the 1 980s the following week with Top Hat. Having won three Olivier awards in London, the production depicts the glamour of Hollywood's golden age through a love story. Audiences can experience the haunting past in a production that commemorates the centenary of the beginning of the First World War at Northampton Royal & Derngate. From August 29 until September 20, the theatre is the co-produced Regeneration, a dramatization of Park Baker's Booker-nominated novel on a poet and solider who is institutionalised for voicing his disapproval about the war.
