uring several years of closure the Carrington Arms became subject to wild guesses as to its
future, it has even been suggested that it might simply become a block of flats. It seemed a good idea to talk with Mr Simon Hill and I found him quite forthcoming. The reality is The Carrington Arms will re-open in due season. All planning is in place for refurbishment of the pub along with a modest residential scheme closer to the railway. The delay in final progress hangs in large part on the failure of Network Rail to respond to relevant communication, Mr Hill is minded to chase them through court for this. I was delighted to learn the real truth, but why did no one talk to him sooner? I formed the distinct impression that Mr Hill will see the pub as a very personal venture which he is looking forward to. When I said "Great, I'll get along for a pint on opening day" I was promised a welcome and even a free first pint.

Buckinghamshire to shop at House of Bee Gee cards.
We asked husband and wife team, Terry and Sue, about some of the changes they've seen in the past 20 years of running the shop: "We've seen mums coming into the shop with their kids in pushchairs, and now we're seeing those kids all grown up and coming into the shop as adults, some of them are now coming in with their own kids!" they explained, "We've made some really good friends and have built some good relationships through having this shop, and it's become quite a community thing. Ultimately, we'd like to thank all of our customers for their continued support over the years and for always coming back to us month after month."
We at the Phonebox would like to congratulate House of Bee Gees cards for a successful 20 years in business, and wish
them all the best for the future.
