More than just a pesky sting
   It's not just food and drink that can be flavoured with the pesky plants, as they have medicinal qualities too. Warm nettle tea has been known to ease whooping cough, hayfever and bronchitis, among others, thanks to the plant's anti-viral properties. There is even suggestion that nettle juice can ease pain during childbirth.
Nettle's uses are even broader; nettle shampoo is excellent for hair, if fed to chickens it can increase their egg-laying abilities and a yellow/ green dye can be made from the leaves. Tons of them were dried in fields across the country during the Second World War to be used for camouflaged material.
