Finally, the Ladies A are secure in their division after a good season. They lost their last match against a strong Stewkley side with good performances by Emma Maitland, Gill Hogston, Katie Bennett and Eleanor Carter.
Summer camps
What a summer for the camps! We have seen record numbers signing up and really enjoying the great weather. Also we have unearthed some great players for the future!
Tournaments (sponsored by Stefanie Price Wealth Planning) There was a thrilling end to the last
American Tournament.
A very sociable event dodged the showers and it was good to see a number of Rusty Racketeers making their debuts with Neil Cook winning
a tin of balls for most promising performance.
In the middle, we had a serving competition with young Andrew showing the oldies how it was done and winning a huge chocolate prize. Then in the final, what drama with, Ruth and Stuart Ayling winning on a sudden death point against Christine Day and Paul Norbury after a great battle.
Thanks to Tim Bedward for organising such a good event and to Stefanie Price for sponsoring it and presenting the prizes.
The annual charity tournament for Breakthrough Breast Cancer will be on Sunday 28th September.
It is always great fun and a terrific cause, so please call Anne on (01234) 240782 to enter.
The Summer Club Tournaments started in June and runs through to the Finals on September 21st, so come along and see some great tennis.
