Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell
A big thank you
Our summer street collections help us to raise money that benefits the various Rotary approved local, national and international charities, including Willen Hospice.
The collections in Olney and Newport Pagnell in August and September raised the wonderful sum of £593.
The Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell would like to thank everyone who dropped money into our members’ buckets. Every coin or note is equally appreciated. In the words of a well-known supermarket group, every little helps. Thank you all.
Christmas is nearly here
Amongst the Rotary Club’s many fundraising projects, one of the most important is the Christmas bucket collections at Frosts Garden Centre, Woburn Sands.
Santa Claus will be arriving at Frosts on Saturday 15th November and members of the Newport Pagnell Rotary Club will be on hand that day, and other days, during November and December.
The Bucks Fizz wheel will also be in attendance on selected dates when Frosts’ customers will have the chance to win a bottle of festive bubbly. We look forward to seeing you there.
Rotary Annual Jaipur charity dinner
The Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell will be holding its nineteenth annual charity dinner in aid of the Rotary International Jaipur Limb initiative. Taking place on Monday, February 16th, 2015 at the Jaipur Restaurant, Milton Keynes, the cost is £27 per ticket. This is the same price as the past two years. More information and tickets are available from the contacts at the end of this article, or any member of the Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell.
The Newport Pagnell Rotary Club has raised in excess of £45,000 for the Jaipur Limb project since it was initiated in 1996.
The project was started in Jaipur, India, to supply low cost artificial
Great War Remembrance
The First World War brought immeasurable tragedy to families across the UK, who lost their sons, husbands and fathers to the trenches.
Here, we continue to publish the names of the fallen, from
legs to amputees who had lost limbs for various reasons, and has now extended to other countries.
The Jaipur Restaurant (the name is the same, but not connected with the charity) has given unstinting and generous support for all of the previous years’ charity dinners, and we are very appreciative of their continued generosity. Please put the date in your diaries.
Our Rotary Club needs you
The Rotary Club of Newport Pagnell was chartered in 1963 and we have been providing help to communities locally, nationally and internationally up to and including the present day. We are an active group of twenty five like-minded men and women and we meet every Wednesday at the Swan Revived Hotel, Newport Pagnell.
