On the menu: Goat curry and goat samosa. What else: JJEB were there last year, but they sold out so quickly I’m rating them as new! The company is named after their three children: John, Jessie and Bettie plus Edna a much loved chicken! They farm their own free range goats.
Where else: Stamford and Ely markets. Hopefully a farm shop soon.
The East House
On the menu: British beef roulade, potato pancake with goulash, handmade Polish dumplings, Ukrainian borscht- beetroot soup with vegetables (gluten free).
What else: Monica and Artur take traditional Eastern European cooking to fine dining standards. Tradition and passion are their two key ingredients. General Manager Adam adds teamwork to this recipe and between the three of them they are delivering something that really works.
Where else: You can find the East House permanently in Newport Pagnell.
freedom lager
On the menu: Freedom Four, a 4% Helles pale lager.
What else: It’s British brewed in Rugeley, Staffs. Naturally carbonated, triple filtered and unpasteurised, it makes it a suitable drinking material for vegans! An environmentally friendly company, they reprocess all their waste water.
Where else: Currently on draught at the Bell and Bear, Emberton.
Tandoori takeaway
On the menu: Samosas, tikka wraps and curry.
What else: New to Olney as well as BOFF, the TT took over from the Bengal Tiger earlier this year and are already building a reputation for quality, tasty food. The open kitchen is great fun to watch whilst you wait. A recent Madras was spot on.
Where else: The takeaway can be found in its permanent home at Fountain Court.
