to the main road...a rare breed of penguins nesting there...the Floral Clock hidden amongst the bushes (no I haven’t forgotten it ... anyone found it yet?)...the list seems endless and pointless, but they certainly don’t want us there and that’s for sure.
I have to say the best comment was from someone who was following it all, and said it was all far more entertaining than the TV that night.
The great thing about the social media is that no one gets anywhere on it. Everyone shouts at each other and the sort of people who are serious about facebook, are not going to change their minds on anything, so there’s no point in it other than for light entertainment which is another reason I like it so much. So we won’t change what the police do on it and we won’t get the layby open again, but it did lead onto another more important discussion and that was about Emberton Park. It looks a bit run down now and that’s partly due to there being no focal point like the café.
What we should do is to open the café properly. If anyone wants to back me financially give me a shout as I’d open it and front it. I’d need help from people who can cook mind you. But how good would it be to have that large expanse all around the café full of people drinking tea and eating bacon sarnies etc.
We wouldn’t need wretched facebook then would we? We could actually talk to each other and tell jokes like we all used to. And as an added bonus we could take it in turns to take the police cups of tea when they’re doing their ‘Community’ policing in the layby.
Cheers for now.
Are bushes, rushes, branches..Yes! (the river can’t be seen)
I know it’s there (in olden days) We punted and canoed
Don’t quote me to the River Board In case i’m misconstrued
“You cannot dredge the sludge away If that’s your dearest wish
It’s not allowed” (and here I quote) “You’ll maybe harm the fish”
Ah well, perhaps in time to come When sun on water gleams
And Newport’s asset brings the crowds Or is that in my dreams

I remember well the Triffids, (they came from outer space) And grew upon this world of ours Oh yes, they grew apace
But they they died, or so we thought But i’ll set your nerves aquiver
It seems that some of them survived They’re living in our river!! Perhaps you don’t believe my claim And say (politely) “shove it”
But there’s the proof for all to see They’re in the river Lovatt!! Gazing down from Tickford Bridge In subtle shades of green

What is a Car Lease?
Contrary to widely held perceptions, a Car Lease (or Contract Hire as it’s more specifically known) is one of the simplest and straightforward methods of funding a new car and in terms of monthly cost a lot less than you might expect!
Put simply, the customer ‘rents’ a vehicle for an agreed period of time, typically two or three years, at an agreed total
contracted mileage.
At the end of the contract the car is returned to the Leasing Company. The risks
of ownership are eliminated.
Various factors will influence the monthly cost, including the car chosen, term and mileage of the contract. The Leasing Company also benefits from high car purchasing discounts from the manufacturer and/or dealer because of the volume
of cars it buys annually.
Finally the vehicle will still have a value at the end of the contract, this is why Leasing a car can be hugely cost effective versus other funding methods such as Hire Purchase and Personal Contract Purchase. However, these alternative
funding methods are of course available also.
