Great War Remembrance
A Great Success
Acapacity audience packed out the upstairs venue at The Two Brewers last month to listen to an excellent set of folk roots musicians playing for OXJAM OLNEY. The event raised £616 to help Oxfam to change the lives
of the poorest people across the world. Thanks to everyone who came along and to the staff at the Two Brewers and the volunteers at Oxfam Books and Music Olney for their support.
Royal British Legion
The First World War brought immeasurable tragedy to families across the UK, who lost their sons, husbands and fathers to the trenches.
Here, we will publish the names of the fallen, from our local
war memorials, exactly 100 years ago to the month.
Having worked with the Royal British Legion, we have just two names this month. Our first name is Frederick Newbury who died on 06/11/15. He was a Private in the Royal Army Medical Corps and is remembered on the Olney memorial. Our second name is William Chaffey who died on 22/11/15. He was a Sapper in 4th/1st Field Company, Royal Engineers. He is remembered on the Newport Pagnell memorial.

Come and join us on our 3rd successive year for lunch on Christmas Day. All are welcome - families, couples, those on their own - especially if you need a little bit of Christmas cheer, company or a good meal. We promise all those things.

Lunch can be delivered for those unable or not well enough to leave home. Transport to and from your home can be arranged.
A voluntary donation of £3 is welcome (will go to the Charity Begins at Home emergency fund - providing support to those in a time of need during the year)
