We were delighted to see the new Home of Amazing Grace signs welcoming visitors to our town. Our thanks go to
Olney Town Council for celebrating the work and words of John Newton in this way, and we would encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about his amazing life story to come down to the Museum and explore.
From Chick Chase to Costumes of Curiosity!
Thank you to everyone, young and not so young, who came along and took part in the Easter Chick Chase. You did so well, we almost ran out of eggs! Following the success of this trail, our quizmaster has been busy digging through the artefacts to set some new challenges. On your next visit, be prepared to hunt down our Costumes of Curiosity! This trail is currently free of charge for children and those who already hold an annual pass, including Friends of the Museum. For new admissions, the usual £5.00 applies for an annual pass.
The welcome return of Refreshments in the Courtyard 10.30 -12pm Thursday 5 May 2016 (Fortnightly thereafter)
We’re very pleased to be reopening the kitchen in May to serve coffee (or tea) and a fresh cake every other Thursday morning throughout the Spring and Summer months. Not long to wait now – the rst coffee morning will be Thursday 5th May.
Museums at Night
The Museum is once again taking part in the National Museums at Night scheme, this time hosting an open evening in our walled gardens on Friday 13th May. Come along between 6.30pm and 8.30pm and enjoy the tranquillity of our traditional ower and vegetable gardens by lamplight. Entry £2, refreshments by donation.
The museum is a small private charity reliant on your support for its continuation. We take group visit bookings and can tailor-make private tours or talks for groups with a speci c interest.
