ur children have returned to school refreshed and eager to see their friends after the holidays. They were particularly excited to discover that the caterpillar, which our Year 1 Robins and Year 2 Owls were looking after, had turned into
a beautiful butter y! We are still patiently waiting to see the tadpoles in our school pond grow their legs and hop away!
Our Robins and Owls are now beginning to learn all about their new topic “Rio, Rainforests and the Olympics” and, along with our Reception Sparrows, they will kick-start the topic with an exciting Rio inspired dance and music workshop.
Meanwhile, as well as celebrating the Olympics, our Sparrows will be learning all about transport in their new topic “Are we there yet?” – A phrase which all of our children admitted to shouting from the back of the car! In the rst few weeks of the term we will be taking the Sparrows to Stoke Bruerne to visit the Canal Museum and enjoy a ride on a canal boat.
Stoke Goldington School
As the School year draws to a close, the Busy Bees are enjoying taking part in Healthy Week which gives them the opportunity to experience several different types of sport and sample health foods. Hopefully this will give
them plenty of energy and inspiration for Sports Day which will once again be a joint event with our partner School, North Crawley CE First School, this year held at Stoke Goldington.
Year 1 and Year 2 Learning Ladybirds are rounding off their topic on ‘Pirates’ with a fun dressing-up day plus an enjoyable visit to explore the pirate ship at Emberton Park.
This month we say our fond farewells and wish good luck to Laura, Yvie, Olivia, Mia, Joshua, Logan, Harry, Sam, Johnny, Jamie and Liam from Year 2 as they move to their new Schools. On the last day of the Summer term the whole school will enjoy a ‘Beach Day’ in which they

ear 3 children at Olney Middle School had the opportunity to try out their newly acquired language skills in a French Cafe. The food was kindly donated by the local Co-op store in Olney. This support from the community has enabled the
children to take part in a fun activity whilst encouraging them to ‘have a go’ at speaking French using the vocabulary they have been learning this term. A big ‘thank you’ to the store manager Mr Bradford and his team for providing the delicious food to make this happen.
The children have also continued to represent the school in a whole range of ways such as class assemblies, musical and sporting events – we had children running cross country at the inaugural National Primary Schools Championships at Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire back in March. They had been selected to represent Milton Keynes because of
In other news, Nigel Willard will be organising our Sports Afternoon this year. He has appointed team captains and competition is hotting up for what will be, as always, a wonderful afternoon of fun for the children and Pimms for the parents!
If you are looking for a school place for your child, please contact Mrs Lawrence on 01908 610470 to arrange a visit to our small, rural school.

can wear their beach clothes, play in the sand, enjoy water-based activities outside and in and perhaps have an ice cream!
At the end of term we will also be saying a fond farewell to our Deputy Headteacher/Year 1 & 2 Teacher Mrs Marie-Claire Parsons who has worked at School for the past seven years and will be hugely missed by everyone. Staff, parents, Governors and pupils would like to say a huge thank you for all her work, support and input into Stoke Goldington during her time with us. In September Mrs Sam Williams and Mrs Donna Ramsden who already currently teach in Years 1 & 2 will share the teaching across both year groups.
A huge ‘thank you’ to all the children, staff, parents and Governors for making the past year such a successful and enjoyable one at School and our best wishes to everyone for a fun- lled and relaxing Summer holidays!
their tremendous nishing positions in the top 10 of the Milton Keynes Primary Schools Cross Country in October. Although it was a very cold day, the children ran really well, with most of them nishing in the top half of the competitors. In the coming weeks our sporting activities range from whole school Sports Day, District Athletics, District Football Finals and County Netball Finals.
