Musicians line up for night of harmony in ancient church
A local arts collective is planning a new live music events.
The group, called Where Two Rivers Meet, are presenting a new show entitled The Parlor Session on 29th June at St Peter and St Paul Church, Newport Pagnell.
On the bill are several acts including ex- Capdown member Andy Hunt, Howling Bee (Craig Brown), and The Leon Hudston Band, featuring Rich Patmore of Rise Bailey Rise and Daniela Bove of the Belongings.
Arts collective Where Two Rivers Meet is made up of Ryan Pink and Leon Hudston, the dynamic duo who created Parklife Festival and The Sunset Lounge.
Alongside them are, Daniela and Rich, with music tech expert Stefan Pope. They created the Parlor Sessions to honour choreographer and dancer Helen Parlor, described as ‘one of our greatest creatives that the community lost last year’. As well as giving locals some
much-requestedlivemusic,WhereTwoRivers Meet events also raise funds for the medieval Newport Pagnell church. The group are opening the church to the music community once again to make the most of its incredible acoustics, while filling it with sound and light. This month’s event hopes to build on the success of March’s Parlor Sessions, where St Peter and St Paul Church was illuminated with changing lights up to the ceiling, and

atmospheric candle lit aisles. The team highlighted the cultural and historical importance of the church and its plans to develop facilities to make it easier for communities to use the space between services.

A clothing swap event to raise funds for Olney Infant Academy is being planned by Olney WI. Get ready for a wardrobe revamp at Olney WI’s clothing swap during the Great Big Green Week 2024! On June 12th the WI are embracing the theme ‘Let’s swap together for good’ and diving into a night of fashion fun at the Carlton House Club, Olney.
Take along your gently-loved clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories to refresh your
style while supporting a fantastic cause.
Only items in tip-top shape will do – clothes you’d happily share with a friend. Each clothing item earns you a ticket to swap for something new and exciting! If you can’t bring clothes you can still participate with a £1 donation per ticket.
All proceeds will help OIA’s revitalization of its wildlife area and pond. The fun event starts at 7pm.
