High Quality Music the order of the day at Astons
Two of my biggest passions in life are music and food and so one particular place in my hometown of Newport Pagnell has really caught my eyes and ears. I love music of all genres but cannot remember the last time I got to hear any Blues or Jazz locally. Luckily thereʼs a new place in town to quench my thirst for good wine, food and music.
Astonʼs Wine and Tapas Bar is a modern take on the traditional tapas bars of our continental neighbours where delicious freshly prepared food meets with a fine selection of both old and new world wines in a wonderfully ambient, intimate venue, creating what is the perfect mix for a great evening out. Three key ingredients make Astons one of the best up and coming venues in the area.
Great Food - All of the dishes are cooked fresh in house as and when you order (microwaves are a no go!) by their expert chefs with nearly all of their dishes using locally sourced and authentic ingredients for that real freshness that shows through in the taste.

Good Times - As of Friday 20th November 2009 Astonʼs will be showcasing some of the very best in live music that the Milton Keynes area has to offer. Friday & Saturday evenings are now dedicated to the much loved arts of Blues & Jazz (from 9pm – 12pm) hosted by the wonderful Mr Richard Miller, one of THE top slide-guitarists in the country (see for yourself at www.richardmiller-online.co.uk) and Sunday afternoons (from 3pm-7pm) being run by Real Music MK which promises to showcase some of the very best musical talent available in our local area.
Iʼm eager to go and check out both the food and the music and I know a certain editor who has just bought a guitar and loves the blues feels the same. Iʼm coming to a point in my life where good wine is replacing average ale, my taste buds are looking for new and wonderful sensations and my ears are tuning into more intricate musical patterns and diverse tones and with this in mind Iʼll be heading down to Astonʼs very soon. The atmosphere promises to be both electric and relaxing, sophisticated, yet laid back and offers something different for your palate to indulge in.
