A Tale of Two Sheds
“The residents of Clifton Court, Olney have a problem with their
garden shed – Is that the type of things Lions get involved with?” was
the simple enquiry made to one of our members whilst she was taking
Apparently an old shed which the residents used to store some gardening equipment had seen better days and it could do with being
The task was taken on by Lion Martin Ward, who has more than a little knowledge of such things and following the necessary site visits, enquiries and research, his advice was simple – “Let’s just buy them a new shed and be done with it – oh and by the way, if we remove the old one and erect the new one ourselves, it will save money.” Never someone to be waste Lions money is Martin.
So it came to pass one Saturday morning, a working party of Lions unloaded the new shed and set about replacing the old one as the pictures show.
So what to do with the Old Shed?

That was easy, especially after reading the February Phonebox which
Talking of Recycling!
It’s not just sheds that we can recycle – we do the same for printer cartridges and mobile phones which lets you donate to Lions causes without taking a penny out of your pocket.
Most people use printers these days and if you normally throw away your old cartridges, why not pop them into one of our reply paid envelopes, post it off and help us add to our charity fund thanks to the payment we receive for the cartridges. This is an ideal way for your office, factory or shop to support a local cause so why not pick up an envelope at Nat West Bank, Sandwich Land or Roscoes Coffee Shop the next time you are changing your printer cartridge.
It’s become even easier to support your local Lions club – and it won’t even cost you a penny.
For more information see our website at www.npolneylions.btck.co.uk where you can also ask for a supply of envelopes.

OLNEY RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
The Senior teams have all had mixed results over the last month, with the First XV remaining in the top half of their league with only four league games left to play, (as this goes to press) three of which are home games. Full details of fixtures are on the website; www.olneyrfc.co.uk The season comes to a close with a home fixture against Buckingham on Saturday 16th April.
The Olney Rugby 7’s Tournament is taking place on Saturday 9th July, and this year will be split into two tournaments, a social side sponsored by local Brewery Hopping Mad and the more competitive tournament sponsored once again by Data-Re. Entry forms are available on the 7’s website; www.pitchero.com/clubs/olney7s/

Once again, Lions put their “We Serve” motto into gear and a few weeks later, the old shed was recycled by being moved from Clifton Court to replace the destroyed one where it will give many more years good service to a town resident.
